"UN Reports: Women and Children Suffering Most in Gaza Conflict"

The United Nations agency promoting gender equality reported that women and children are the main victims of the Israel-Hamas war, with around 16,000 killed and an estimated two mothers losing their lives every hour since the conflict began. The agency highlighted the gender inequality and burden on women fleeing the fighting, with at least 3,000 women possibly becoming widows and heads of households, and 10,000 children losing their fathers. UN Women emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian assistance, an end to the destruction and killing, and called for accountability, justice, and support for all those affected.
