Belarus calls for truce amidst ally's call for war to end.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has called for a "truce" in the Russia-Ukraine war and urged talks without preconditions. While Belarus hasn't directly joined the conflict, Russian troops have been allowed to do exercises on Belarusian territory since before the beginning of the war. Lukashenko warned that if Russia felt threatened, it could use "the most terrible weapon." Putin announced last month that Russia would station nuclear weapons in Belarus, and the move would not violate non-proliferation agreements.
