China and Syria Forge Strategic Partnership for Reconstruction and Diplomatic Cooperation
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Syrian President Bashar Assad have announced the establishment of a "strategic partnership" during their meeting in China. Xi expressed China's willingness to continue working together with Syria, supporting each other, promoting friendly cooperation, and defending international fairness and justice. China has long supported Assad's regime and has used its veto power in the UN Security Council to block resolutions against his government. Xi also pledged China's support for Syria's reconstruction.
