Estonia's Baltic Cable Linked, Pipeline Damages Reported, Sweden Reveals

Estonia believes that the damage to a telecommunications cable between Sweden and Estonia is connected to the damage caused to a gas pipeline and cable between Estonia and Finland. Finnish investigators suspect deliberate sabotage in the pipeline incident, while Tallinn is investigating the cable incident. Sweden confirmed that the cable was damaged by external force or tampering. NATO has increased patrols in the Baltic Sea, and the investigation is focused on the Chinese NewNew Polar Bear container vessel and Russia's Sevmorput. In 2022, the Nord Stream gas pipelines between Russia and Germany were also damaged in deliberate acts of sabotage.
