"France pledges military support as Ukraine defends its territory"

French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged additional military aid to Ukraine, including light tanks, armored vehicles, and training for soldiers, as the country prepares for a counteroffensive against Russian forces. Ukraine plans to retake Russian-occupied territory within its internationally recognized borders, not attack Russian territory. Germany has also provided military aid to Ukraine, including tanks and air-defense systems. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is visiting allies to seek further arms and funds to rebuild what's been destroyed by more than a year of devastating conflict.
