France's Macron Announces Long-Range Missile Deployment to Ukraine

France has announced that it will supply Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles, allowing Ukrainian forces to strike deep into Russian territory. French President Emmanuel Macron made the announcement during a NATO summit in Lithuania, stating that the increased military aid aims to support Ukraine's counteroffensive. The missiles, believed to be 50 SCALP missiles produced by MBDA, will come from existing French military stocks. This move follows Britain's decision in May to supply Ukraine with the Franco-British missile known as the Storm Shadow. The delivery of the missiles is in line with France's policy of assisting Ukraine in defending its territory.
