Houthis' Growing Threat to Israeli Ships and Escalating Tensions

The Houthi militia in Yemen has threatened to continue blocking the Red Sea for Israeli ships and launch missile and drone strikes against Israel itself, despite international pressure. The Houthis have fired drones and ballistic missiles towards Israel and commercial ships in the Red Sea in response to Israel's assault in Gaza. The US Navy has intercepted several of these attacks. The Houthis recently seized an Israeli-linked cargo ship and transformed it into a tourist attraction. US Yemen envoy Tim Lenderking met with Yemeni officials to discuss Houthi threats to international commercial traffic and peace efforts in Yemen.
