India-Ukraine Relations: Recent Developments and Future Prospects

Ukraine's deputy foreign minister, Emine Dzhaparova, has requested a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top officials to help resolve its conflict with Russia. Dzhaparova also expects India to invite Ukrainian officials to participate in G20 events and intensify political dialogue with Kyiv. India has not been as critical of Moscow as others for its invasion of Ukraine and has even ramped up its buying of Russian oil. Dzhaparova warned against dependence on Russia and urged India to diversify its resources, including energy and defence equipment.
