International Coalition Targets Hamas Leaders and Financiers in Joint Operation

The United States and the United Kingdom have taken coordinated action against Hamas leaders and financiers, imposing sanctions on key officials and entities involved in supporting Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has designated Hamas-affiliated individuals and mechanisms used by Iran to provide support to Hamas and PIJ. The U.S. Department of State has also designated a leader of PIJ's military wing. The actions aim to protect the international financial system from abuse by Hamas and their enablers, degrade Hamas's financial infrastructure, and cut off their access to outside funding.
