International Pressure Mounts on Ukraine to Negotiate with Russia

Germany and the United States are reportedly planning to pressure Ukraine into negotiating with Russia by reducing weapons deliveries, dealing a blow to Ukraine's hopes of victory. The plan aims to supply Ukraine with enough weapons to hold the current front line but not enough to retake occupied territory, in order to push Ukrainian President Zelensky towards the negotiating table with Russian President Putin. The German government sources also indicated that the White House shares their view on shifting the focus from weapons deliveries to negotiations. This development frustrates Ukrainian officials who seek a full military victory, including the recapture of occupied territory.
