"International Response to UNRWA Funding Freeze Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict"
TL;DR
The White House is preparing for the possibility that Congress may permanently pause funding for UNRWA, the United Nations relief agency for Palestinians, following accusations against its employees for participating in an attack on Israel. The U.S. is awaiting the results of a UN investigation before making any decisions on resuming contributions, and is exploring alternative humanitarian agencies to continue aid. If the pause is lifted, only $300,000 in funding would remain allocated for UNRWA, and any additional funding would need congressional approval.
