International Tensions Rise as West, US, and UK Clash with Russia and Iran at UN over Nuclear Escalation and Drone Use

The United States and its Western allies clashed with Russia and Iran at the UN Security Council over Iran's advancing uranium enrichment and its reported supply of combat drones to Russia for use in attacks on Ukraine. The US accused Iran and Russia of violating a 2015 resolution by transferring drones to Ukraine without Security Council approval, while Russia accused Ukraine and the West of spreading misinformation. France, Germany, and the UK also highlighted Iran's violations of its nuclear commitments under the 2015 deal, including the stockpiling of enriched uranium at levels close to weapons-grade. Negotiations on the US rejoining the deal and Iran returning to its commitments remain stalled.
