North Korea's Kim Jong Un oversees ICBM launch to strike fear and warn US and South Korea.

North Korea has confirmed that it fired an intercontinental ballistic missile, the Hwasong-17, which is the largest road-mobile, liquid-fuelled ICBM in the world. The launch was detected by South Korea and Japan and was the latest in a series of weapons tests that have coincided with joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea. North Korea said the missile was intended to demonstrate a "tough response posture" and was a response to the "provocative and aggressive" military drills. Pyongyang views such drills as a sign of the US and South Korea's hostility.
