Russia seeks arms deal with North Korea despite US sanctions.

The White House has accused Russia of seeking weapons from North Korea to fuel the war in Ukraine, in exchange for food and other commodities. The US has previously declassified intelligence that Iran sold attack drones to Russia and that a private Russian military company received arms from North Korea. The Biden administration has loosened restrictions on intelligence findings to make them public, and the Treasury Department has announced sanctions against a Slovakian national for attempting to facilitate arms deals between Russia and North Korea. Any arms deal with Russia would violate U.N. resolutions that ban North Korea from exporting or importing weapons.
