The Implications of Russia's Tactical Nukes in Belarus

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he has struck a deal with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. This is the first time since the mid-1990s that Moscow will base arms outside the country. The US has said there have been no indications that Russia was preparing to use nuclear weapons, but that they would continue to monitor the situation.
