Ukraine warns of severe consequences for Russia's actions in Avdiivka

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that defending the city of Avdiivka is crucial to Ukraine's war plans, as heavy losses for Russia there would undermine Moscow's conduct of the broader conflict. Additionally, Ukraine's forces have established a foothold on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River in the southern Kherson region, potentially opening a new line of attack towards Crimea. Russian forces have been targeting Avdiivka since mid-October, resulting in significant destruction. Zelenskiy emphasized that the more Russian forces are destroyed near Avdiivka, the worse the overall situation will be for the enemy.
