Ukraine's Energy Sector Braces for Russian Attacks and Considers Targeting Russian Oil

Ukraine's Energy Minister, German Galushchenko, stated that Ukraine may target Russia's oil and gas infrastructure in response to attacks on its electric system during the winter. Galushchenko believes it would be fair to retaliate against Russia's intensified attacks on Ukraine's power grid as temperatures drop. He indicated that strikes on Russian fuel operations would not significantly impact global oil prices, as alternative sources are available. Galushchenko also urged the adoption of sanctions on Russian nuclear energy by U.S. officials.
