US Treasury Sanctions Houthi Funding Network Amidst Escalating Regional Aggression

The US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on 13 individuals and entities involved in providing tens of millions of dollars in foreign currency to the Houthi rebels in Yemen. These funds, generated from the sale and shipment of Iranian commodities, were facilitated by a network of exchange houses and companies. The sanctions aim to disrupt the financial networks supporting the Houthi's regional aggression and their attacks on civilian infrastructure and commercial shipping. The designated individuals and entities include exchange houses in Yemen and abroad, as well as shipping agents involved in arranging payments for the transportation of the funds.
