Ukrainian rescue workers are risking their lives to evacuate people from flood zones in the country's south, which is under Russian occupation. The rescue missions have been hampered by Russian snipers and drones, and some evacuees have been forced to present Russian passports to leave. At least 150 people have been rescued from Russian-controlled areas, compared to nearly 2,750 from Ukrainian-controlled regions. As floodwaters recede, rescuers are increasingly cut off by mud, and more Russian soldiers are returning, reasserting control.
