"Naval Tensions Escalate: Ukraine Reports Sinking Russian Warships in Black Sea"
TL;DR
Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly shaking up his naval leadership by firing Admiral Viktor Sokolov, head of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, following unconfirmed reports of Ukraine destroying a Russian warship. Vice-Admiral Sergey Pinchuk, Sokolov’s deputy, will temporarily fill the position while a long-term replacement is sought. The shake-up comes as Ukraine claims to have downed 25 Russian military vessels and one submarine in the Black Sea since the war's outset.
