Ukraine widens mid-range drone push to cripple Russian logistics behind the front

Ukraine has surged its mid-range drone campaign, deploying SETHs alongside FP‑2s and Hornets to strike Russian trucks, trains and other rear-area targets in the logistical zone 10–200 km behind the gray zone, aiming to disrupt supply lines and degrade frontline combat power before it can be brought to bear. With production rising to around 7,000 mid- and long-range drones by March 2026 and four more USF brigades re-equipped, the campaign marks a rapid shift in drone warfare. Russia’s air defenses are increasingly targeted and weakened by the strikes, potentially widening Ukraine’s operational space and influencing the spring offensive.
