Scientists have unveiled the depiction of a 240 million-year-old marine reptile named Dinocephalosaurus orientalis, resembling a "Chinese dragon," based on newly found fossils in China. The creature, equipped with an extraordinarily long neck and flippered limbs, is considered well adapted to an oceanic lifestyle. Its discovery has surprised scientists, who are still baffled by the function of its long neck, and it closely resembles another ancient marine reptile, Tanystropheus hydroides.
