Egypt's President el-Sisi visits Saudi Arabia in surprise move amid regional reshuffle.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held talks in Saudi Arabia, focusing on promoting common cooperation in all fields and continuing coordination and consultation on regional and international topics. The visit comes as Egypt battles an economic crisis blamed on the war in Europe and mismanagement of the economy. The two countries seek to mend their frayed ties with other regional powers, including Iran and Turkey. Saudi Arabia and other Arab Gulf states have been the main suppliers of aid to the Egyptian government, but have been increasingly reluctant to help cash-strapped Egypt.
