EU pledges billions to support Ukraine's war and economic recovery.

The European Union has proposed to inject 50 billion euros in aid over the next four years to finance Ukraine's war against Russia. The money, a combination of grants and loans, is part of the review to plug gaps in the EU's budget for the period 2024-2027 left by the fallout of the COVID pandemic and the conflict. The proposal comes ahead of a major donor conference in London this week on paying for Ukraine's reconstruction. Separately, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday during a visit to Paris that Italy and France will continue supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia.
