Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin's handling of the recent Wagner paramilitary group's rebellion, saying it showed Putin remained firmly in control. Orbán's comments put him at odds with Western officials who have said the uprising exposed weaknesses for Putin. Orbán also reiterated his argument that it will be "impossible" for Ukraine to win a war against Russia and criticised his EU counterparts over migration, arguing that new rules to share the burden across EU countries will create an incentive for migrants to embark on dangerous trips to Europe.
