"Israel's Judicial Overhaul Plan Sparks Talks and Controversy"

Israeli President Isaac Herzog held talks with representatives of opposition factions, including Labor, Ra’am, and Hadash-Ta’al, for the second day to negotiate the government's plans to overhaul the judicial system. Labor called itself "the gatekeeper of democratic value[s]" and demanded constitutional protection of human rights and the judiciary's independence.
