Deadly Attack on Police Station in Southeast Iran by Militants: State TV Reports

Four militants attacked a police station in Zahedan, Iran, killing two security forces in a shootout. The militants, equipped with grenades, were attempting to gain access to the police station. A Sunni separatist group affiliated with al-Qaida, known as Jeish al-Adl, claimed responsibility for the attack. In a separate incident, two men involved in the deadly attack on the Shah Cheragh mosque in Shiraz were hanged. The attack on the police station occurred as protests took place in Iran, unrelated to the demonstrations.
