NATO Raises Concerns Over Russia's Threat to Undersea Cables and Pipelines.

NATO's intelligence chief has warned that Russia may sabotage undersea cables and other critical infrastructure to disrupt Western life and gain leverage against nations supporting Ukraine. The alliance has increased efforts to protect undersea infrastructure following the Nord Stream attacks. Threats to undersea cables and pipelines have become a focus of public attention since the unexplained explosions that crippled the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines. Some 95% of internet traffic around the world is transported through undersea cables, with 200 of these 400 cables deemed critical. NATO has established a Critical Undersea Infrastructure Protection Cell to improve cooperation with industry, capitals, and experts.
