"Tokyo Area Paralyzed by Heavy Snow, Disrupting Transportation and Flights"

Heavy snow in the Tokyo area disrupted trains, grounded over 100 flights, and caused power outages in more than 14,000 homes. About 40 people suffered minor injuries from slipping, and train services were limited while highways were partially closed. The Japan Meteorological Agency predicted up to 21 inches of snow in mountainous areas north of Tokyo, with some areas in central Tokyo reporting the first snowfall in two years.
