"Indian Navy Thwarts Hijack Attempt, Rescues Sailors Off Somalia Coast"
TL;DR
The Indian Navy successfully rescued 21 crew members, including 15 Indians, from the Liberian-flagged merchant vessel MV Lila Norfolk after an attempted hijack in the Arabian Sea. The crew had sent a distress call, reporting the boarding of armed personnel, which led to the deployment of the warship INS Chennai and a naval aircraft to intercept the vessel. No pirates were found on board during the "sanitisation" operations. This incident comes amid a recent increase in piracy attacks in the region, prompting heightened surveillance by the Indian Navy.
