"Indian Navy Rescues Crew, Seizes Ship from Somali Pirates"
TL;DR
The Indian navy has successfully captured the MV Ruen, a cargo vessel hijacked by Somali pirates, and rescued 17 crew members after a three-month ordeal. All 35 pirates surrendered, and the vessel was checked for illegal items. This marks the first successful takeover by Somali pirates since 2017, prompting increased surveillance in the region. India has deployed warships to combat piracy in the Arabian Sea, with at least 17 incidents recorded since December.
