Formula 1 announced a 2027 calendar with a record 10 sprint weekends, adding Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi to the sprint lineup alongside Canada, Britain, Italy, Brazil and Qatar. The season starts in Bahrain on 12–14 March, though regional conflict could affect openings; Portugal and Turkey return to the calendar. Pre-season testing is set for Bahrain February 24–27. Each sprint weekend features a shorter Saturday race and an additional Friday qualifying session to boost fan engagement and attendance.
