DLSS 5 Arrives on RTX 40s After 50‑Series Tuning Milestones
NVIDIA says its DLSS 5 AI rendering model will first be tuned on GeForce RTX 50 series (Blackwell) with updates planned this fall, then extended to RTX 40 series (Ada Lovelace). NBA 2K27 will showcase the 3D-Guided Neural Rendering capability. The model has delivered multi‑fold performance gains since its March reveal, and NVIDIA expects optimization to proceed at a faster pace, aiming for 7–10x efficiency improvements over the initial unveiling while reducing the performance penalty from the 50–60% range to around 10–15% by year’s end. Exact dates for RTX 40 support aren’t given yet, and there’s mention of unofficial DLSS 5 use on older GPUs via mods in the past.}
