Reforj Debuts Rixels Texture Tech to Distinguish It From Minecraft
Ex-Minecraft porting studio 4J Studios’ Reforj has an eighth update introducing a new texture system called Rixels, which breaks voxel faces into smaller 2D pixel blocks to boost texture detail, per-pixel lighting, and animation flexibility, helping differentiate Reforj from Minecraft; the tech also promises reduced texture storage and moves the game closer to a distinct Xbox sandbox experience.
