ABC World News Tonight was the sole week-over-week gainer among the big three evening newscasts for the week of June 29, helped by a hot July start; NBC Nightly News and CBS Evening News declined, affected by Fourth of July scheduling shifts and anchor substitutions (Tom Llamas off, Haillie Jackson hosting NBC). ABC averaged 8.128 million viewers and 964,000 in the Adults 25-54 demo (up 8% and 1% WoW; up 13% total and down 3% demo YoY). NBC averaged 6.16 million viewers and 856,000 in the demo (down 3%/4% WoW; up 12% YoY). CBS averaged 3.765 million viewers and 501,000 in the demo (down 6%/13% WoW; up 1% total and 8% demo YoY).
