Sudan Drone Strikes on Abyei Market and West Kordofan Kill Over 300
Sudanese army drone strikes on a fuel market in Abyei and a transport hub in West Kordofan have killed more than 300 people, including mourners and civilians. The attacks, which occurred over the weekend, have escalated tensions between Sudan and South Sudan over the disputed Abyei region. While the army claims the targets were RSF supply sites, the RSF and local officials accuse the military of indiscriminately killing civilians. The strikes have caused massive fires, injured hundreds, and prompted South Sudan to summon Sudan’s ambassador in protest.
