CMS Expands Medicare ACCESS Pilot to Cover Five New Chronic Conditions Starting Spring 2027
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced an expansion of its ACCESS pilot program, which pays technology companies to manage chronic conditions for Medicare beneficiaries. The expansion adds substance use disorder, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tobacco use, and extended support for musculoskeletal conditions. These new tracks are set to begin in spring 2027, potentially covering approximately 75% of Medicare enrollees.
