NBC Nightly News Tops Key Demo as ABC Keeps Total-Viewers Lead
NBC Nightly News overtook ABC World News Tonight in the Adults 25-54 demo for the week of August 3 by 26,000 viewers, while ABC still led in total viewers. CBS Evening News remained under 4 million. Nightly News was the sole program to grow in both total viewers (up 1%) and the demo (up 12%), posting 6.557 million total viewers and 1.065 million demo. World News Tonight averaged 8.339 million total viewers and 1.039 million demo, and CBS Evening News had 3.913 million total viewers and 514k demo.
