Chris Anne Affleck, Civil Rights Advocate and Ben & Casey’s Mother, Dies at 83
Christopher Anne Affleck, a long-time Massachusetts public school teacher and civil rights organizer who taught literacy during Freedom Summer 1964 and remained active in social justice, died in June after a terminal illness at age 83. She witnessed her grandson’s high school graduation shortly before her passing and is remembered for her revolutionary spirit, commitment to equality in the classroom, and lifelong advocacy alongside her famous sons.
