"Taiwanese American Cousins Compete in Global AI Race"
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, and Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, are not only two of the most powerful figures in the global AI chip industry, but they are also distant cousins with a shared family history rooted in Taiwan. Both executives grew up abroad but pursued similar paths in electrical engineering and eventually entered the semiconductor industry. Their companies, Nvidia and AMD, compete in the gaming and data center markets, as well as in the development of GPUs for generative AI. Despite their competitive positions, Su and Huang acknowledge their family connection and the importance of partnering with competitors in the industry.
