Tribeca Premieres World's First Fully AI-Generated Feature, Dreams of Violets
Tribeca Festival world-premiered Dreams of Violets, a 75-minute docudrama that is the first fully AI-generated feature accepted by a marquee festival. Directed by Ash Koosha and produced by Fountain 0, the film was created using AI tools for about $2,000 and centers on five Iranians during January protests, seen through the eyes of a 10-year-old boy with cerebral palsy. The project argues for AI’s potential in human storytelling while fueling ongoing debates about AI in cinema; Tribeca runs June 3–14 in New York with a noted lineup of jurors.
