New bodycam footage from Dustin Poirier’s June airport arrest in Atlanta shows the UFC star moving from calm interaction with officers to escalating aggression, repeatedly challenging police to “one-on-one” and directing profanity at staff and fans. After some tense moments and references to prior prison time, he calms during transport, is processed at the jail, and later apologizes, saying he needs help.
Bud Light terminated Dustin Poirier’s sponsorship after a Georgia airport incident that began as public drunkenness and was later shown in body-camera footage; Poirier apologized, said he’s dealing with mental-health struggles since retirement and that he isn’t someone who can drink responsibly, and noted the loss of several hundred thousand dollars from the deal. While he retains other sponsors and has support from peers, Bud Light’s decision ends the longtime partnership; Strickland had urged the brand to stand by him, but the sponsor chose to part ways.
Two intoxicated sisters from New Jersey were arrested at Orlando International Airport after causing a disturbance on a Frontier Airlines flight, attacking a gate agent, and refusing to leave the plane. The incident was captured on bodycam footage, showing the sisters pushing and verbally assaulting airline staff, leading to charges of battery and disorderly conduct. They were later enrolled in a pre-trial intervention program, which could result in the dismissal of charges upon successful completion.

Israel Adesanya, the former UFC middleweight champion, was briefly detained at JFK Airport in Queens, N.Y., after airport security discovered brass knuckles in his possession following his loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 281. Adesanya recounted the experience, which he says was well-handled by airport security, for the most part. The weapons charge was eventually dismissed. Adesanya can laugh at the misunderstanding now, especially since he avoided any serious trouble after jumping through the proper legal hoops to have his charges cleared. The brass knuckles that landed him in hot water were a gift from a fan, which his manager Tim Simpson admitted they carelessly threw in their luggage as they departed New York.
