Original Practical Magic Star Encourages Open-Minded Support for Sequel Casting
Alexandra Artrip, who played Antonia in the 1998 film, responds to fans’ negativity about the Practical Magic 2 recasting, praising the new leads Maisie Williams and Joey King and urging supporters to give the sequel a chance. Artrip, who has since retired from acting, says she doesn’t want her space to be a hub of negativity and notes Wood had previously said she wouldn’t return. Practical Magic 2 also stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman and opens September 11, 2026.
