Gaza toll climbs to nine as Israeli strikes claim civilian lives and a journalist
Israeli airstrikes and gunfire across Gaza killed at least nine people, including a child and Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Wishah, with strikes hitting Gaza City, Beit Lahiya, Khan Younis and the Bureij refugee camp. Gaza health officials say more than 1,010 Palestinians have died since the October ceasefire, while Israel says it targets militants. Al Jazeera condemned Wishah’s death, raising the network’s toll of journalists killed in Gaza since Oct 2023 to 12, as diplomacy over the Gaza plan stalls and mediators push for the next phase.
