MOCA Appoints Public Media Veteran Jonathan Abbott as CEO and Director
Jonathan Abbott has been appointed the new CEO and Maurice Marciano Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles, effective September 24, 2026. Abbott, a 15-year veteran of public media who served as president and CEO of GBH in Boston, replaces interim director Ann Goldstein. The appointment follows a year-long international search and aims to stabilize the institution ahead of its 50th anniversary in 2029. Abbott will work alongside Chief Curator Clara Kim to expand the museum’s audience and strengthen its community ties.
