ACR recommends earlier breast cancer screening for high-risk women.

The American College of Radiology (ACR) has updated its breast cancer screening guidelines, emphasizing the need for early risk assessment, particularly among Black and Ashkenazi Jewish women. The ACR recommends that all women, especially these subgroups, undergo a breast cancer risk workup by the age of 25. The guidance also reiterates that annual breast cancer screening should begin at age 40 for women at average risk of the disease. The ACR also added updates to the guideline, including recommendations for MRI surveillance and supplemental screening for high-risk women.
