Researchers at Northwestern University and Tsinghua University have developed an AI-driven algorithm that removes atmospheric blur from ground-based astronomical images, producing more accurate and realistic images for scientific measurements. The algorithm was trained on data simulated to match the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's imaging parameters, making it instantly compatible when the observatory opens next year.
