Climate Activists Cause Flight Delays and Cancellations at German Airports
Climate activists from the group "Last Generation" caused flight delays and cancellations at airports in Hamburg and Düsseldorf, Germany. The activists cut through fences and glued themselves to the ground on runways to draw attention to the increasing greenhouse gas emissions caused by rising numbers of plane passengers. The German Interior Minister pledged new security measures, while the German Transport Minister criticized the activists for ruining vacations and described their actions as criminal rather than protective of the climate. Charges of disturbing the peace and dangerous interference with aviation will be filed against the activists.
