SpaceX Capsule's Return Causes Sonic Boom in Escambia County
A sonic boom heard and felt across Escambia County and surrounding areas was caused by a SpaceX Dragon capsule and Ax-2 crew returning to earth. The capsule successfully splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City. The boom rattled the area, causing a large number of calls to 911 operators and reports of an explosion.
