Coordinated Strikes in Iran's Southeast Kill Five Security Personnel in 24 Hours
A surge of armed violence in southeastern Iran has resulted in at least five deaths and multiple injuries among military and police personnel within a single day. Local rights group Haalvsh reported four distinct attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan province, including a mine and rocket-propelled grenade assault on a police headquarters in Jaleq. The People's Fighters Front, an alliance of Baluch armed groups, claimed responsibility for three of the incidents, while the killing of a police major in Faryab remains unclaimed. Official Iranian media reported a lower casualty count, confirming only one attacker killed in the Jaleq clash, highlighting a significant discrepancy between state reports and independent monitoring groups.
